Writing for Healing: Mothers of Homeless, Addicted and Estranged

This is a six week course. As Mothers of these adult children, our numbers are growing. Our stories are unique, painful, and never-ending. This is not a support group or therapy. This course is not about our children, how they got to where they are, or why. It is about us, the Mothers. Emphasis will be placed on our stories—how we have handled the situation and taken care of ourselves. We will not complete a memoir in this short course. We will complete a few pieces and develop a strategy moving forward to continue to process—and hopefully heal.

Create Your Timeline Oct 22 & 29th

110 Luigart Court Lexington KY 40508

Remember when . . ? Where did we live? How old was I?

In this two week course, you will uncover a timeline of important dates, places, people, and meaningful experiences. You will record these dates in an accordion fold artist book, accented with photos and short memory narratives. Throughout this process, particular threads that weave through your life will begin to reveal themselves. These threads can be explored through writing practice sessions and expanded to a memoir at a later date.

$60 includes some supplies (you provide your own photos and memorabilia.)

Writing for Healing

In this writing workshop we will explore the censor in our mind that keeps us silent. We will search for the thread that runs though our creative work. With a focus on putting words on paper you will find personal gems, poems or narratives that can be further developed for publication.
